This offering is for the pictured single round of 13mm GyroJet Ammunition.
Developed in the 1960s and named for the method of gyroscopically stabilizing its projectiles. Gyrojets are small rockets that have little recoil and were designed for pistol sized weapons.
No heavy barrel was needed to resist the pressure of the combustion gases. Velocity on leaving the tube was very low, but increased to around 1,250 feet per second. The result is a very lightweight weapon/pistol. 1 3/8 inches and the long. Live ammunition. Makes a fine display for the military collector.
