Product Details

This offering is for the pictured Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Long Rifle. In good looking condition and maker marked from the Japanese State Arsenals, Tokyo Kogyo.

The Type 99 Long was the Japanese start to the caliber change from 6.5 to 7.7 in 1938. It features the 31 inch barrel that was soon found impractical for modern infantry and discontinued in favor the 25.5 inch barrel that became standard ton the common Type 99.

Serial numbers no longer match. Blued finish on the metal, thinning with silvering to the sharp edges. The royal chrysanthemum has been scrubbed from the receivers top. This has the original cleaning rod. Bolt action repeater appears mechanically fine.

Original hard wood stock and hand guard set, with typical dings and scuffs from use and long storage, GI's initials carved in the stock.

Chambered in 7.7 Japanese the chrome lined bore is brite and excellent.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
