This offering is for 3 clips of our 7x49mm Liviano FAL Ammuniton. Like the ones pictured, all are in good looking condition, 15 rounds on 3 stripper clips! Maker marked from FN Fabrique Nationale Belgium on military contract to Venezuela for use in their FN FAL select fire rifles.
The 7x49 medium cartridge was developed and experimented with after WW2 by the Belgians, British and Canadians in an effort to have a light weight (assault rifle) round. Variations of this cartridge were experimented with but never accepted by NATO and the 7.62x51 eventualy became the western standard.
Venezuela was the only country to use this round but eventualy, they too converted to the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge.
Makes a fine display for the military collector.
