This offering is for the pictured Spanish Mauser Model 1916 Guardia Civil Short Rifle. In good looking condition and is arsenal modified to caliber 7.62x51 in the 1960's.

Produced at the Spanish Oviedo Arsenals this has the crest of the Guardia Civil, the quasi-military national police, tasked with bringing peace and stability to Spain.

Serial numbers no longer match. Metal finish is blued with average wear, handy carbine with a 21 inch barrel. Bolt action repeater appears mechanically fine.

Sound stock and hand guard set with typical small dings and compressions from use and long storage.

Chambered in 7.62x51 the bore is brite with very good rifling. Import marked.

Makes a fine rifle for the collector.
