This offering is for the pictured Japanese WW2 Inert 20mm Navy Aircraft HE Cannon Round. In good looking condition. No powder or primers this is inert and safe for your military display.
This cannon round was adopted in 1939 by the Navy and saw use in the Mitsubishi A6M, Zeke or Zero long range carrier capable fighter aircraft and others. Known as the Type 99 20mm Oerlikon No1 Ammunition, 20x72 RB.
Cartridge easily disassembles for inspection.
Brown colored projectile and tip fuse indicates HE, high explosive. Two white paint bands indicate Navy modification #2, likely a change to the fuse type. The Oerlikon No1 indicates the shorted type of round (shorter 2 13/16 inch case).
5 5/8 inches in overall length, tarnish on the brass and wear to the paint as pictured.
