This offering is for the pictured US Model 1816 Musket Socket Bayonet. In good looking used condition and made for use on the Model 1816 Muskets.
The US 1816 design in martial arm's was the official start of standardization and interchangeability of makers and parts. Very popular, it was produced and in service from 1816-1844.
Socket style bayonet, 16 inch blade with a 3 inch socket. Metal is brite with light frost and wear, top blade fuller near 9 inches long. T slot on the right side socket. Faintly marked US and inspection cypher in the blade flat.
No scabbard.
Makes a fine item for the military collector.
