This offering is for the pictured French Remington Rolling Block M1914 Rifle Bayonet. Maker marked from Remington Arms on contract during WW1 for the French war effort. Rolling Block rifles (chambered in 8mm Lebel) and bayonets were purchased by France for auxiliary troops while the principal French rifles went to the front.
A bit uncommon to find, the bayonet has a correct brite blade and grip metal with a few spots of patina and frost pitting, well maker marked on the blade.
20.5 inches in overall length with a 16 inch blade. Handsome hardwood grips and the lock button works fine. The blade has small nicks.
Missing the scabbard. Makes a fine item for the military collector. |
