Product Details
|
This offering is for the pictured Turkish Mauser Bayonet Modified British P1907. A neat variation, not seen too often. Made from the British P1907 bayonet.
In the 1930's Turkish military modified all types of mixed arms in the country to achieve some level of standardization. Bayonets were all shortened to a standard length and modified to fit the M38 Type rifles.
This bayonet has the original makers mark from Sanderson in 1918. Shortened to 14.25 inches in overall length with a 9.5 inch blade and a modified muzzle ring.
Scabbard is a shortened German WW1 butcher blade type with a British throat added.
Makes a fine item for the military collector.
