Antique #A871 This offering is for the pictured French Mle 1837 Naval Percussion Pistol. In good looking condition and maker marked from the French Chatellerault Arsenals in 1842. 182 years old!

Made for military use as a single shot percussion pistol for naval use as indicated by the navy anchor on the brass grip bottom and the unique belt hook on the left side.

Correct brite finish on the steel barrel and lock with several spots of old pitting. Hammer works fine and appears to be a good replacement, it does fall from half cock. Overall, has been lightly cleaned.

Brass trigger guard and band, 6 inch barrel with the unique attached and swiveling ram rod.

Wood stock is sound, French walnut.

Makes a fine item for the military collector.
