Item #4627 This offering is for the pictured US Model 1904 Hospital Bolo Knife. In in nice looking condition, a quality pre WW1 era item. Maker marked from Springfield Armory and dated 1911.
p, piece and dated 1905 on the blade.
17 3/8 inches in overall length with a robust 12 inch rounded blade. Issued to medical corps for clearing brush, making a field litter or shelter.
S shaped brass cross guard and sound sculpted hardwood grip. Handsome leather scabbard with the early leather belt hanger (Model 1904 only).
Makes a fine item for the military collector.
