Item #4506. This offering is for the pictured USMC WW2 Hospital Corps Bolo Knife. In good looking condition, it comes with the original leather scabbard.
A heavy chopping implement, 16.5 inches in overall length with a 11.5 inch rounded blade. Marked USMC, United States Medical Corps on the blade from maker "Village Blacksmith" one of 5 different WW2 contractors of these blades.
For use with hospital corps units, presumably for clearing brush and cutting wood for litters, tent/shelter poles and splints when in the field. Blade is brite with minor verdigris from storage.
Includes the WW2 dated leather scabbard from Boyt.. Makes a fine display for the military collector. Just this 1 available.
