Product Details
This offering is for the pictured Belgian Model 1935 Mauser Short Rifle. In very good looking condition and maker marked from the Belgian arsenals at MAE, Manufacture D'Armes Del' Etat 1935-1949. Near 60,000 of these rifles were produced from MAE before the start of WW2.

State of the art design for the time, this "short rifle" was the answer to the German K98 during the rearmament of the 1930's.

Serial numbers match except for the bolt and follower. Metal finish is black stoving paint finish over smooth Parkerizing. Shows average wear as pictured. Bolt action repeater appears mechanically fine.

Sound hard wood stock and hand guard with typical small dings and scuffs from use and long storage. 1940 dated cartouche on the butt.

Chambered in 7.65 Mauser the bore has very good rifling with frost lands and grooves.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
