Japanese Arisaka Type Long 99 Rifle. In good looking condition, maker marked from the Toriimatsu factory Nagoya Arsenal. The Type 99 Long was the Japanese start to the caliber upgrade from 6.5mm to 7.7mm in 1938. It features the 31 inch barrel that was soon found impractical for modern infantry and discontinued in favor of the 25.5 inch barel that became the standard and common on Type 99.

Metal finish is blued and turning a slight patina in spots, Royal Chrysanthemum ha been scrubbed from the receivers top. Stock set appears sanded but generally sound, slight cracking at the front band and wear at the bayonet lug. Stock also has a couple fine line cracks at the wrist area on the right side, this seems sound as it is sandwiched between the upper and lower tangs.

Chambered in 7.7 Japanese the bore is brite and excellent.
