Item #4564 This offering is for the pictured vintage US Navy Rifle Model 1870 Brass Handles Bayonet. In good looking condition, maker marked from Ames Manufacturing, Chicopee Mass in 1871.
Near 10,000 produced for the Navy 50-70 Rolling Block rifles.
24.75 inches in overall length with a 20 inch brite center fullered blade. Well marked on the riccaso USN. Attractive and robust brass handle with a scaled grip and naval emblem.
Includes the original leather scabbard. Brass mounts and missing the frog stud. Repaired leather patch on the back side.
Makes a fine item for the military collector. Just this 1 available.
