Item #3865 This offering is for the pictured US Model 1864 Cartridge Box. In good looking condition and maker marked from the Watertown Arsenals in 1864 for the Civil War effort.
7 x 8 inches in size, leather is sound for display, lid to the main pouch opens easily. Black tanned finish shows wear and scuffs as pictured, good belt loops. minor thread tears to the stitching.
The main pouch is empty and may have held a tin storage tray or the later wooden cartridge box. US embossed on the front flap.
Makes a fine item for the military collector. |
