Item #4632. This offering is for the pictured French Vendetta knife. In good looking used condition and likely made between 1890-1920. Maker marked 76 Veritable Bernard, a trade mark for the Thiel maker Besset, Jarrige & Fils.
This unique design originated in Corsica after a popular 1840's novel about a vendetta. Known as a Vendetta or Corsican knife it was produced for travelers.
Quality item, when open 9.25 inches with a 4 inch folding blade. Attractive look with vintage bone grips. blade is etched on one side faintly with one of several slogans of the time "Morte al Nemico" death to the enemy.
Makes a fine item for the collector.
